Mar 11 volunteer work day restoring Titlow Park's estuary in Tacoma

Join us to help restore this unique pocket estuary at Titlow Park!  Your hard work will benefit salmon, waterbirds, and other native species.

Plant native vegetation and remove Himalayan blackberry and other habitat-modifying invasive species. You can also view and learn about local waterbirds.

This is a family-friendly event. However, children 10 and under must have adult supervision.

Come help restore native shoreline habitat to the Puget Sound ecosystem.

Join People For Puget Sound and Sound Stewards at Maury Island Marine Park. This former gravel mine has the potential to be pristine shoreline habitat with your help.  We’ll be working together to remove pesky invasive weeds like blackberry and scotch broom . Put on your (work) gloves and join the fight!

Mt Walker Trail

Olympic Peninsula. This a short and steep trail that leads to some amazing vistas of the Olympics and the Cascades. We'll work on maintenance heading up the trail - focusing on improving the tread.

Larrabee State Park

Northwest WA near Bellingham. WTA will spend a couple of weekends this winter improving several trails within Larrabee State Park. The work will focus on general maintenance including improving drainage in places where the tread is muddy, as well as possible trail realignment.

Beacon Rock - Hardy Ridge Trail

Join our "Thursday Crew" volunteers to help finish construction on a new multi-use trail. Last year WTA Volunteers completed "phase 1" of the Hardy Ridge Project, officially opening the trail to hikers. We're refining the trail by removing stumps, adding rock walls and bringing the tread up to code.

Native plants grown from locally collected seed are the corner stone of conservation and ecological restoration.  Learn about growing native plants for stream and wetland restoration projects while helping to perform critical nursery tasks.  Activities include starting plants from seed, divisions, and transplants, or help maintain nursery stock by watering and weeding.

Join People For Puget Sound on the shores of the forgotten Duwamish River. Turning Basin #3 is a wetland that used to contain Kenco Marine Company where boats moored. Now it is a tidally influenced wetland providing shelter and food for wildlife like ospreys, great blue herons, bald eagles and juvenile fish. Outdoor Leadership Workshop - Hike Organizing 101

WTA is offering a free Hike Organizing 101 workshop for community organization leaders that are interested in taking youth hiking!

Join other youth group leaders to learn more about WTA's Steps into Wilderness program and have an engaging afternoon of fun, interactive activities and useful information. You'll leave the workshop with new resources about group and risk management, trip logistics, and tips for making outdoor adventures fun.

Dry Creek Trail

Olympic Peninsula near Lake Cushman. This trail was hammered by fall storms, with over 120 trees across the trail at one point. The Forest Service has mostly cleared the trail of the trees, and now WTA volunteers are needed to address some maintenance needs, including tread repair, drainage work, and some brushing further up the trail.

Volunteers are needed to help spruce up Edmond’s Community Demonstration Backyard Garden before the grand opening! We’ll be weeding, trimming and maybe planting a last native plant or two. Come and be part of this very special place for learning, recreating and appreciating nature!
