On April 24, the Friday evening Taize prayer service at St. James Cathedral will be a special vigil for climate action and protection. Our faith calls us to care for Creation and to stand in protection of the poorest and most vulnerable humans, ecosystems, and species that will be most harmed by climate change.
Hosted by St. James Community, this is an ecumenical service co-sponsored by St. Mark's Episcopal Cathedral and Earth Ministry/Washington Interfaith Power and Light.
Stream and Wetland Enhancement: The King Conservation District stream and wetland restoration program has many successful restoration projects that require native plant installation and ongoing maintenance. Sample a variety of restoration projects while replanting and removing invasive species. Projects locations are throughout King County, so please contact us for details.
Events will occur at project locations yet to be determined from 9 a.m. - 1 p.m.

Everyone is invited to dig up some invasive English ivy, pick up rubbish along the beach, pull Scotch broom, or help with yard maintenance at an elder's home.
Then enjoy a traditional salmon lunch and meet local artists and traditional crafters. There will be music and many ways to learn about environmental resources in Skagit County. Look to ride the “Earth Day Bus” for free!

Please join Citizens for a Healthy Bay, Port of Tacoma and EarthCorps for CHBs' Earth Day celebration! We will continue our restoration of this Commencement Bay site with a salt marsh planting at Mowitch Estuary.
Snacks, tools and gloves will be provided!
Priest Point Park in Olympia contains some of the best shoreline habitat in any urban area on the Sound.
It has one largely functional pocket estuary (Ellis Creek/Cove) and another that will be restored in the future (Mission Creek/Cove). Come out and join us for Earth Month restoration activities at the mouth of Mission Creek.

The easiest way to get involved is to come to our monthly volunteer work PARTY. On the last Thursday of each month 1pm to 4pm we have a workparty with socializing, lots and lots of yummy goodies (chocolate is a specialty), and working to further bicycle advocacy in Washington. We would love to have you join us. Drop in on the last Thursday afternoon or evening (please call first if you will be coming in the evening). We need your help.

Olympic Peninsula near Brinnon. We'll be working on restoring any sections of trail damaged in the winter storms, as well as clearing the trail to make sure it is ready for equestrian traffic by the end of May.

Show Map Snoqualmie Ranger District Yes Hwy 410 east of Enumclaw. We'll address maintenance needs on the Snoquera Falls Trail, and may also spend some time on the Buck Creek Trail (on the way to Snoquera) or the Snoqualmie Trail leaving from Camp Sheppard. Work will include re-tread and fixing any slide areas, as well as drainage improvements. Meet at Camp Sheppard.

Come join the Cascade Land Conservancy and Pierce County Surface Water Management for a tour of the Naches Trail Preserve to see the beautiful prairie plants in bloom!
We will also be celebrating Native Plant Appreciation week by learning more about the Preserve and Clover Creek by taking participants on guided tours.
This annual event organized by Puget Soundkeeper Alliance involves over 30 organizations, businesses and government agencies. More than 250 volunteers will launch in their kayaks and other small boats to pick up trash from the waters and shorelines of Lake Union and Portage Bay. Last year nearly 3 tons of trash were collected and removed. The event will end with a volunteer recognition lunch and Environmental Fair. Please join us whether or not you are a boat owner, and help us clean up our inland Seattle waters.

What to bring:
Please remember to dress for the weather. Suggested Dress: Boots or comfortable athletic shoes, work clothes, rain gear and appropriate layers. Volunteers should bring a refillable water bottle. Snacks, drinks, tools and gloves will be provided.
Join this work party at the Oak Harbor Post Office on Saturday, May 9, 11 AM-2PM. There will be a load of oak bark mulch to spread and some weeding to do. Families and all ages are welcome. Bring shovels, rakes, dandelion removers, hand trowels and buckets for weeds-- if you have them.

Show Map Washington State Parks Southwest No Southwest Washington. In 2005 WTA began construction of a connector trail that joins the east and west Hardy Ridge Trails by traversing the ridge affording spectacular views up and down the Columbia River. The hiker section is nearing completion, and should be completed by summer. Show Map Spokane County Parks - Iller Creek Conservation Area No Eastern Washington - Spokane Area. We'll continue with trail improvements and maintenance within Spokane's Iller Creek Conservation Area. The current project is to reconstruct a steeply eroded section of trail that runs along the east ridge of Iller Creek Trail near the bottom. The work will involve clearing the trail corridor, digging new tread, brushing, drainage work and other activities.
