It is (usually) scheduled for the 4th Thursday of every month from 1-4 at the Bicycle Alliance office, 309A 3rd Ave. S., Seattle, WA 98104. Restoring Puget Sound: Taking Action through Education, Outreach and Service
Storming the Sound is a one-day conference for environmental and sustainability educators in the Central Puget Sound region. This is a great opportunity for teachers, non-formal educators, environmental organizations with education programs, and students with an interest in a career in environmental education to:
Native plants grown from locally collected seed are the corner stone of conservation and ecological restoration. Learn about growing native plants for stream and wetland restoration projects while helping to perform critical nursery tasks. Activities include starting plants from seed, divisions, and transplants, or help maintain nursery stock by watering and weeding.

We’ll be grubbing out blackberries and Scotch broom that are threatening to invade our native planting areas.

Volunteers are needed to help spruce up Edmond’s Community Demonstration Backyard Garden before the grand opening! We’ll be weeding, trimming and maybe planting a last native plant or two. Come and be part of this very special place for learning, recreating and appreciating nature!

Join the King Conservation District, One Brick, Seattle Works and the Duwamish Alive! Coalition in their annual volunteer cleanup and restoration of Longfellow Creek, a tributary to the Duwamish. Come out and help us pull blackberry and spread some mulch in recognition of Earth Day 2010. With your help we can restore the Duwamish, vital habitat for our local Chinook salmon!

Learn about evaluating your garden site, drawing plans, site considerations, design principles and approaches, plant selection, and more, with a focus on Northwest native plants.
To celebrate the 40th anniversary of Earth Day, the chorus will perform director Fred West's environmental oratorio, "Upon this Land," a composition for chorus, quartet of soloists, brass quintet, woodwinds, and percussion. The concert is open to all ages and will be held at Town Hall Seattle. Advance tickets are $15.00 and are available by calling (206) 264-5532. Day of tickets will be $20.00 at the door.
