NFFTY Earth Film Festival: 4TH ANNUAL NATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL FOR TALENTED YOUTH

Film Starts Here with 190 films from the next generation. Mark your calendar for 4 days of film genius from the talents of young filmmakers from 33 states and 16 countries. NFFTY also includes 6 film panels and workshops featuring top talents from Hollywood and Seattle.  

WHY NFFTY ROCKS
NFFTY provides young filmmakers a "full feature" festival experience with screenings held inside state-of-the-art venues, prime access to industry professionals, and ample exposure to large, enthusiastic audiences. After the festival, filmmakers continue to benefit from year-round Internet streaming, ongoing screening and distribution. Variety magazine recently named NFFTY co-founder Jesse Harris one of 25 people who transformed youth entertainment in 2009.

Human trafficking, spontaneous bicycling, and other environmental and social justice issues are brought to light through these films motivating awareness and positive change.

Synopsis: A look at local food, its production and distribution. My goals are to make people aware of local food, how and where to get it, and the benefits of local food for their health, the economy and the environment.

Synopsis: A personal comparison of a Southern Californian suburban teenage girl's life with her peers she met in Nepal. Share the filmmaker's discovery, finding different definitions of necessity, wealth, and happiness, and learning what it means to be a global citizen.

Synopsis: A boy is bored. He sits on a curb, waiting for something to do. Along comes a plastic bag, on its way to messing up the environment. But does the bag know this? The boy follows the bag to its fateful death at a dumpsite. But when he gets there, he finds so many others...what was so special about his bag? He falls asleep and has a strange dream.

Synopsis: You can sell a package of cocaine once; you can sell a girl ten thousand times. Lydia Cacho, a journalist fighting for women being trafficked and former victim herself; Ben Perrin, the founder of The Future Group, an NGO looking at trafficking in Canada, and Lou Berube, an officer of the law, all give us their takes on the existence of human trafficking in North America today.
