Help Promote the Health and Prosperity of Our Waterways

Join People For Puget Sound, the Duwamish River Cleanup Coalition, and the Duwamish Tribe in a presentation on the "State of the River, State of the Sound," a forum discussion focusing on the current state of both the Duwamish River and the Puget Sound, and ways in which the greater Seattle community can help fix this ever growing problem.

The Duwamish River, which flows directly into Puget Sound, has been designated by the Federal government as one of the most polluted rivers in the United States. Cleanup efforts to date have been highly inadequate, leaving our water and our fish unsafe for the entire Puget Sound region.

Forum presenters include:   BJ Cummings and Thea Levkovitz (Coordinators of the Duwamish River Cleanup Coalition), Kathy Fletcher (Executive Director of People For Puget Sound), and James Rasmussen (Director of the Duwamish Longhouse and Cultural Center).

Doors open at 6 pm; program begins at 7 pm.

The event is free; a $5 donation would be appreciated.
