Be sure to see the full article to find out about the National Parks free days as well: MLK Weekend First of State Park Free Days for 2012 - This coming three-day Martin Luther King, Jr. holiday weekend is the first of ten fee-free days at Washington State Parks in 2012. These are days when visitors will not need to have a Discover Pass at State Parks.
The days are closely aligned with the fee-free days on federal lands that we reported on in October, with a few exceptions. They only pertain to Washington State Parks, and not to other state lands that require the Discover Pass. Discover Pass legislation in 2011 allowed for up to 12 fee-free days at Washington State Parks each year.

March 18-19: Honoring Washington State Parks 99th Birthday
