Tiny Planet Benefit for Puget Sound
Nectar Lounge
Admission $10 :: 21+
ABOUT THE EVENT
TINY PLANET- A BENEFIT FOR PUGET SOUND IS AN EVENT OF SEATTLE’S ENVIRONMENTAL AND MUSICAL COMMUNITIES COMING TOGETHER TO RAISE AWARENESS FOR THE NEED TO KEEP OUR BEACHES AND WATERS CLEAN.
In 2009 Seattle-based songwriter Tai Shan donated online proceeds of her song Tiny Planet to People for Puget Sound, a non-profit organization dedicated to the restoration of the Puget Sound water system.
Tai Shan has teamed up with fellow Seattle-based musician Angela Reed for a night of musical celebration. The funds raised from this donation concert will be donated to People for Puget Sound. Included in this night’s performance will be guest speakers, spotlight musicians, and the Tiny Planet Raffle. The raffle will include products from local artisans, Seattle activities, gift certificates, weekend getaways, and more. Raffle drawings will be held throughout the evening. Admission tickets and Raffle tickets will be available at the show!
ABOUT TAI SHAN
Sound Magazine raves, "Her music is like hugging a total stranger; kind of awkward and totally wonderful."
Tai’s clear, Joni Mitchell-like voice has been featured in international film series such as Tales from Patchwork Farms, radio shows like Our Roots are Showing, and she has performed at regional venues such as the High Dive, Nectar Lounge, Folklife Festival, and Benaroya Hall.
Tai Shan's song Tiny Planet was born on the shores of the Puget Sound during a blustery winter rainstorm. Shan watched drainpipe toxic stew gush into the body of water she loved so much, so the words and music began to stir. She knew then that she wanted to help preserve the Puget Sound and its indispensable role in the region's marine life, culture, and commerce. more
