Washington Celebrates Native Plant Appreciation Week
Blog post from Washington Native Plants Society -- Governor Gregoire has proclaimed April 25-May 1, 2010 as Native Plant Appreciation Week in Washington. This is our seventh annual celebration of Washington's amazing diversity of over 3000 native plant species that inhabit deserts, rain forests, high alpine environments, river valleys, and even backyard landscapes.
This year's partners include federal, state and local government agencies, as well as non-profit organizations and other businesses. Last year nearly 100 activities in eighteen counties across the state were organized to provide opportunities for Washingtonians to learn more about our native plant diversity.
