Blake Island Work Party
The Blake Island State Park Cascadia Marine Trail is on a sandy point on the northwestern tip of the island. The views of Seattle are spectacular and the hiking trails through the old forest are delightful. Perhaps best of all, this beautiful island is just a hop skip and a paddle away from the most densely populated shorelines in Puget Sound. Every year WWTA returns to Blake to help restore the Cascadia Marine Trail and surrounding areas by planting native dune grass, picking up trash that accumulates on the point, and returning native vegetation to eroded slopes. Join WWTA on Saturday March 7th for the 2009 work party. Transportation is provided from Manchester Public Dock - or you can arrive under your own power.
