Iller Creek Trail Work Party
Eastern Washington - Spokane Area. Join us for a day (or two) of trail improvements and maintenance within Spokane's Iller Creek Conservation Area. This lush riparian corridor contains 163 invertebrate species, 86 bird species, 15 mammals and 2 amphibians. We need your help as we reconstruct a steeply eroded section of trail that runs along the east ridge of Iller Creek Trail near the bottom. Once we finish that we will address additional maintenance work on the Loop trail. The work will involve digging tread, brushing, drainage work and other activities. You may sign up for one day or for the entire weekend! We'll be back at this location for additional work on May 16 and 17, check back a month before to sign-up!
The Iller Creek drainage begins at south end of property and flows through cool, north-facing valley along lush riparian corridor and contains 163 invertebrate species, 86 bird species, 15 mammals and 2 amphibians. The area provides white-tailed deer and Rocky Mountain elk winter range and migratory corridor and a nesting area for Red-tailed hawks.
The Project: We will reconstruct the trail around a steeply eroded section on the East Ridge of Iller Creek Trail near the bottom. Once we finish that we will address additional maintenance work on the Loop trail. The work will involve digging tread, brushing, drainage work and other activities.
