One simple way to care for it all

We help public and private sector workplaces engage their employees in learning about, volunteering for, and supporting conservation programs and organizations.

Representing an array of vetted nonprofit organizations, EarthShare Washington (ESW) is often a person's introduction to the conservation / environmental community.  For people who care deeply about the environment - yet have neither the time nor resources to research programs that ignite their passions - EarthShare Washington can point them in the right direction.

I’m impressed by Earth Share’s dedication to creating awareness, taking action, and providing fi nancial and volunteer support to environmental groups--and I feel that my pledge is one small way that I can help this important group make a difference.

Inspiring Folks to Give Back ... to Their Communities, to their Planet

Last September the Greater Seattle Chamber of Commerce released findings from a survey of 1,700 businesses in King, Pierce, Snohomish, and Kitsap Counties.  When asked for "the primary benefits of doing business in the four-county region, " the top response from businesses was "Environmental Surroundings & Quality of Life."  These findings reveal a broad, sincere respect for our environment, and not just in the corporate world.

People in the Northwest – and the Puget Sound region in particular – consistently list our environment and quality of life as key reasons for living here.

Though they don’t always work in harmony, institutions in the public, private, and nonprofit sector recognize the great assets of this place we call home.  Businesses have since 1987 acknowledged us for building their annual employee contribution campaigns; we reach tens of thousands of people each year through these programs. Nonprofits value us for supporting their success in addressing key issues affecting our environment locally and globally.

Today, with the recent surge in corporate sustainability planning, we’re now equally known as a business and community resource – for volunteer programs, education and outreach, and helping people find programs and activities that appeal to their passions.

EarthShare Washington selects the best conservation groups in Washington state through a rigorous vetting process which includes an independent review team. Our national partner, EarthShare selects premier groups working nationwide and worldwide. With one gift, you can do your share to help in every aspect, both in your own backyard and around the world.

Surfrider Foundation recently celebrated 150 victories for our nation’s coastal areas over a 5-year span... With resources from EarthShare Washington, for example, our volunteers assisted in Grays Harbor County in 2010 to adopt a measure protecting shorelines, wildlife habitat, and areas that flood frequently. There is no doubt EarthShare Washington funds make a difference!
