Holiday Shopping Guide
Do you want to support one of our conservation organizations and their work and get a little holiday shopping done at the same time? Check out these great gift ideas from our member organizations:
- How about a Bicycle Alliance of Washington "Share the road" bicycle jersey for the cyclist on your list?
- On Sunday, December 13th, Shop at Nube Green or flora and henri and 10% of all proceeds will benefit Cascade Land Conservancy!
- How about some coffee (or tea)? Grounds for Change has an Earth Ministry blend that helps support their stewardship work.
- EarthCorps has a place you can buy backpacks and clothes for the park lover on your list.
- Artist Tony Angell's new book benefits People for Puget Sound and would look great on anyone's coffee table.
A book about the Seven Wonders for a Cool Planet is a great resource from Sightline Institute for your every-day environmentalist.- Washington Native Plants Society offers a beautiful calendar for 2010 as well as note cards and other items featuring Washington's flora.
- Know someone who likes to hike? Try a Washington Trails Association gift membership that includes the Mountaineers Books Winter Hikes deck of hiking cards as well as six issues of the Washington Trails magazine.
- Washington Water Trails benefits from a kayak sale at Valley Sea Kayaks USA.
- Washington Wilderness Coalition has a selection of hiking books that helps them protect wilderness across the state.
Other resources:
- Washington Toxics Coalition has a gift guide that helps you avoid dangerous chemicals and other toxic items when purchasing gifts this holiday season. A must read, especially if you're buying gifts for small children.
- See our complete list of members. If you want to make a donation to a leading conservation organization, this may be the best time to do it. Many of our member organizations have matching grants or donors who will match your donation- doubling the good you can do with your gift.
- Give a gift that supports 60+ environmental groups all at once through EarthShare Washington. If you want us to send a card that says a donation was made on someone's behalf, just leave a note in the comments form on our donation page.
Thank you and have a great year end!
(P.S. - Don't forget to see our calendar and check out what you can do to volunteer as well. Make a commitment to give of your time in 2010.)
