In 2001 and 2002, Cascade Land Conservancy protected key parcels of land adjacent to the Robe Canyon Historic Park. Located east of Granite Falls just off the Mountain Loop Scenic Byway, the park encompasses almost 1,000 acres of unparalleled wild and scenic land on both sides of the South Fork of the Stillaguamish River.

The day will feature a ¾-mile hike down the Old Robe Trail and a wade across the river. We'll have lunch and work to remove invasive Scotch broom which is populating a bank of the river and preventing the growth of native plants.

Robe Canyon HikeWhat to bring and what to expect:

Please dress appropriately for the weather and wading (shorts under sweatpants is a good bet for wading the river then keeping warm if it's colder). River sandals are strongly recommended. A daypack and water bottle will come in handy.  We will provide gloves, tools, water and lunch.

Participants should anticipate uneven terrain and hiking down (and up!) a series of switchbacks. Terrain is suitable for kids 10 and over.

RSVP to volunteer@cascadeland.org or (206) 905-6931 for directions to the event and additional information.
