Event Description

Join EarthCorps and the Green Kirkland Partnership (GKP) as we continue to restore Carillon Woods Park. The GKP is a public private partnership between the City of Kirkland & the Cascade Land Conservancy. This partnership seeks to restore forested parkland in the City of Kirkland, create an informed, involved and active community of citizens, City staff, educators, business leaders, and conservationists, and ensure sustainability of our forested parklands through proper, long-term maintenance and community stewardship. Go to www.greenkirkland.org to learn more about the GKP.

Today participants should expect to learn a brief history of Carillon Woods Park and an overview urban forests, information on EarthCorps and the Green Kirkland Partnership. EarthCorps staff will discuss forest structure, native vs. non-native plant species, and environmental restoration. Today's work will include invasive plant specie removal.
